Avengers: Doomsday is assembling a team that includes members from every inch of Marvel, even those from the 20th Century Fox umbrella. Yeah, things are getting serious! The latest superheroes to link and build an army against Doctor Doom are the original X-Men from the early aughts. Congrats to Jennifer Lawrence’s nephew.
In the teaser trailer released on January 6, we see two old friends playing chess: Professor Charles Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen). The two hold each other’s hands as the scene quickly cuts to Cyclops (James Marsden) letting it rip. We are missing Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) and Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) from the teaser, but the latter might be busy dealing with a few traitors himself.
Besides a few reunions from the first half of the MCU, it seems that Doomsday is becoming a way to show off everyone from the multiverse saga of the MCU. The supers from The Thunderbolts, the new Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Captain America, and Shang-Chi are just some of the newer faces facing Doctor Doom alongside oldies but goodies like Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
