Tory Lanez was hospitalized after getting stabbed in the face by another inmate. TMZ reports that Lanez was attacked and stabbed several times in a housing unit at the Tehachapi correctional facility on the morning of May 12, at 7:20 AM. Currently, there’s no information as to why he was stabbed, but according to his Instagram, Lanez was stabbed 14 times, including “7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face.” The post also adds that “both of his lungs collapsed” after the stabbing and he was “placed on a breathing apparatus,” clarifying that he is “now breathing on his own.” After the incident, Lanez was then rushed to the hospital, where he is still receiving care. The correction facility claims that the injuries were not life-threatening.

Lanez has about eight years left of his prison sentence. He was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. He was convicted of three felony charges by a jury in late 2022, and he was sentenced to ten years in prison the following year. In 2024, Lanez’s attorney filed a habeas corpus petition claiming that the evidence, like the gun in the shooting and the bullet fragments, was not made available to him in court.
