Eric Adams apparently got into it with a heckler at the airport, according to a video of the exchange that was posted to Reddit on Tuesday. The footage seemingly shows the two getting off a plane, apparently in Dallas, after flying in from New York.
“Eric Adams, please punch me in the face! I would love if you punched me in the face,” the woman can be heard saying in the video. Snapping back at her, Adams said, “Go fuck yourself.” “Okay, you can get fucked, too, fuck you,” she replied. Adams then retorted, “I’m not mayor anymore,” to which the woman said, “Thank God.” “You’re gonna see the Brooklyn in me,” the former mayor added.
It’s unclear what led to the heated back-and-forth, but a spokesperson for Adams, Todd Shapiro, defended him in a statement to the New York Post, saying he is “a private citizen and was harassed.” “The clip is selectively edited, lacks critical context, and misrepresents what actually occurred,” Shapiro said without sharing any further context on the interaction.

Whatever it is that happened, it seems that Adams stands by his response — on Tuesday, he shared a link to a New York Post article about the incident on social media, simply writing, “Exactly.” Hey, I’d probably be in a bad mood too if my antisemitism-fighting cryptocurrency had just crashed.
