These days, it seems like every famous person is starting their own book club. Reese Witherspoon has the monopoly on books about to be adapted into prestige miniseries; Dakota Johnson and Dua Lipa offer their own quirky bookshelf picks every month; and others, like Kaia Gerber, run clubs mostly on Instagram vibes. Now, it sounds like another celebrity book club is about to hit the literary scene: On Tuesday, Katie Couric announced she’s starting her own, dubbed KCBC (short for Katie Couric Book Club, if that wasn’t clear).
On her Substack — where, naturally, KCBC will take place — Couric said she’s starting the club because her 2026 New Year’s resolution is to “scroll less, read more.” Apparently, her goal is to read one book every month. Sounds like a pretty achievable goal to me, especially when you’ve got 90,000 subscribers to hold you accountable. “I love to read,” Couric told People. “And I found that keeping up with current events, scrolling social media — doomscrolling more often than not — was just taking too much of my headspace and not leaving me with enough time to read great books.”

So what is Couric Nation filling its headspace with instead? The club is kicking things off with The Correspondent, by Virginia Evans, which Couric said was given to her by a friend for Christmas. The inaugural club meeting — which will be held on Substack and include a conversation with Evans — is scheduled for January 19, so you’d better read quickly.
