Over 2 Million Attend Record-Breaking Lady Gaga Concert in Brazil

by thenowvibe_admin

There’s a reason every single comments section says “Come to Brazil.” On Saturday, Lady Gaga’s concert on Rio de Janeiro’s Copa Cabana Beach was attended by somewhere between 2.1 and 2.5 million Little Monsters. The event has broken the record for highest attended concert by a female artist, a record previously held by Madonna with 1.6 True Blues (or whatever Madonna fans are called) on that same beach last year. “Nothing could prepare me for the feeling I had during last night’s show—the absolute pride and joy I felt singing for the people of Brazil,” Lady Gaga wrote in an Instagram post Sunday morning. “The sight of the crowd during my opening songs took my breath away. Your heart shines so bright, your culture is so vibrant and special, I hope you know how grateful I am to have shared this historical moment with you.”

You may be asking yourself How can 2.5 people attend a concert? How does that even work? The answer is giant screens. Aerial footage of the concert shows the massive scale of the free concert. The entirety of Rio’s most famous beach was outfitted with giant vertical screens, so people all the way back could be part of the moment. It’s like when districts watch the Hunger Games in The Hunger Games, but not sad.
