Rachel Zegler is currently exhibiting some of the tell-tale signs of Having It All. The actress is receiving some of the best praise of her career for her performance in Evita on the West End, she’s posting lots of fun Instagram carousels about her London adventures, and she just debuted a new romantic interest at a Sabrina Carpenter concert. Let’s focus on that last part for a second.
On Sunday, Zegler was spotted in the arms of a new man at Carpenter’s show in London. The Daily Mail published photos of the pair holding hands and kissing while taking in the performance and identified him as Nathan Louis-Fernand, one of Zegler’s Evita castmates. The next day, Zegler shared some very cute snaps of her and Louis-Fernand in the back half of a 20-photo carousel. In one, his hand is draped over her lap; in another, their blurry figures are hugging.

People confirmed the relationship on Tuesday after a source told the tabloid that the couple met during rehearsals for Evita and “had an instant connection.” They apparently began dating earlier this summer.
So what’s his deal? Louis-Fernand is a swing in Evita, meaning he covers for several different spots in the cast and can be slotted in where he’s needed. Prior to joining Evita, he was one of the stars of London’s Magic Mike stage show — a period of his life which is well-documented on his Instagram, in case you’re curious. Before that, he was in the Hamilton ensemble.

Basically, he’s a really jacked breakdancer who appreciates musical theater. That’s the kind of boyfriend they make up on Sex and the City. In a photo dump from last month, Zegler shared lots of photos of her and Louis-Fernand (and their castmates) hanging out. He is shirtless in almost all of them, to which I say: Good for her!

Is it a little messy to be dating your castmate? Yeah, but that’s theater for you. At least they aren’t both married to different people and falling for each other during “Seventy-Six Trombones.” Besides, earlier this year, Zegler was being dragged through the mud and blamed for Snow White flopping because she has a principled stance on Palestine. If anyone has earned a fun and sexy (if HR-unapproved) fling, it’s her.
