The Music Lover’s Guide to the 2026 Super Bowl

by thenowvibe_admin

The sports people can have their little game, but the rest of us know that the Super Bowl is really about various chip dips, weird commercials, and incredible live music. Fresh off the Grammys last Sunday, the February 8 game will feature a bevy of musical numbers. The number of performances has even increased in recent years: The Black national anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing” was added to the Super Bowl pregame show in 2020, and this year’s opening ceremony will feature an extra musical salute to the past 60 years of Super Bowls.

Below, find the full list of performances at the 2026 Super Bowl, which airs on NBC and Peacock.

Halftime Show: Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny, fresh off his historic Grammy win for Album of the Year, is taking on the biggest stage in the country. The Puerto Rican pop sensation won the Grammy for his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which translates to “We should have taken more photos.” The record is both modern and tackles classic Puerto Rican styles, so audiences should expect to see a blend of the old and the new. He hasn’t confirmed any guests yet, but he’s previously collaborated with artists that would be familiar to soccer moms and die-hards alike, like Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, and Rauw Alejandro, so the potential guest list is wide open.

The National Anthem: Charlie Puth

Taylor Swift once sang that “Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.” Now, he’ll get a chance to make good on that idea on the biggest stage imaginable. The New Jersey native, best known for singing the hook on “See You Again,” will belt out this year’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” during the opening ceremony, which begins at 6:00 p.m. ET.

‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’: Coco Jones

“Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the Black national anthem, will also be performed during the opening ceremony. This year, it will be sung by R&B star Coco Jones, who first made her name starring in the Disney Channel film Let It Shine and later won a Grammy for her song “ICU.”

‘America the Beautiful’: Brandi Carlile

Joni Mitchell’s bestie will sing “America the Beautiful” during the opening ceremony. The subtext of Carlile singing that song will be rich — she has been outspoken in her critiques of ICE and pledged $25,000 in legal assistance for victims in Minnesota.

A special performance by Green Day

In addition to the normal musical performances, the opening ceremony will include a special performance by Green Day. It will celebrate the history of the Super Bowl, since this is the game’s 60th year.

Plus conservative counterprogramming

Technically, there’s another, non-NFL-sanctioned musical event coinciding with the Super Bowl, too. Kid Rock is headlining Turning Point USA’s alternate, conservative halftime show, called the “All-American Halftime Show.” It will air on YouTube, and he will be joined by country singers Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett, and Lee Brice. The “all-American” show is intended to be counterprogramming for Bad Bunny’s show, though it should be noted that Puerto Rico is part of America.
