Her face is flushing! What is this feeling? Ariana Grande is one of the 534 invitees to become a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, aka, Grande might become an Oscar voter. Personally, we think she earned her nomination years ago when she played Cat on Victorious, but the Academy cites her work on Don’t Look Up and Wicked as part of her nomination criteria. Other invited stars include Mickey 17’s Naomi Ackie, The Bikeriders’s Jodie Comer, Anora’s Mikey Madison, Flow’s Gints Zilbalodis, and The Apprentice’s Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong. “We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artists, technologists, and professionals to join the Academy,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said in a joint statement in a press release. “Through their commitment to filmmaking and to the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community.”

However, there was one invited artist who truly showed the value they’re going to bring to voting decisions. I Saw the TV Glow’s director Jane Schoenbrun celebrated their invitation with a simple message: “About to be the guy at the academy meetings being like ‘yeah yeah but have u seen this dead mall explorer YouTube video?’” Now, that’s Oscar worthy.
