With a $104.7 million domestic earned so far, the Demon Slayer film has become the highest grossing anime of all time. Internationally, Infinity Castle is even bigger, with a cumulative worldwide gross of over $555 million. The film has now surpassed previous Demon Slayer film Mugen Train to become the biggest Japanese film of all time. And that half-billion is just an estimate, mind you, The final box office tally on Monday is likely to be even higher.
Him, the football horror film produced by Jordan Peele, debuted in second place with $13.5 million domestically. The film is also not getting great reviews, so we’re not likely to see a second half comeback. But it’s doing better than this week’s other big, bold, beautiful premiere: A Big Bold Beautiful Journey bombed with only $3 million its opening weekend. Meanwhile, The Conjuring: Last Rites is holding steady at number 3 in its third week with $12.9 million. The film has grossed $372 million worldwide, beating Sinners for the biggest horror movie of 2025.
