Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) is pulling a Mariah Carey. In the first trailer for the The Devil Wears Prada sequel, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) walks back into the offices of Runway and meets a confused Priestly. “Look what TJ Maxx dragged in,” Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) remarks as Miranda looks more and more puzzled at the woman in front of her. “Sorry, who is this? Do you know her? Do I know her?” she asks as Andy tries to jog her memory. “She was one of the Emilys,” Nigel states. It seems like it didn’t matter either way, because Miranda needed someone by her side on the helicopter ride over to the countryside.
It does seem like the only other person Miranda remembers from the first movie, besides Nigel, is Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt). “We were at Runway at the same time, Miranda,” Emily explains through her reunion shock. The Devil Wears Prada 2 comes out on May 1, so Miranda has plenty of time for a rewatch.
