On Wednesday, Taylor Swift made a two-hour appearance on her boyfriend’s podcast, where she launched the rollout of her 12th album and also shared a lot of relationship lore. Taylor’s appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, was one of the most intimate looks we’ve gotten into her personal life, particularly the two years she has spent dating Travis. Here’s everything we learned about their relationship on the episode.
She loves that they met through a podcast.
Taylor credited New Heights with starting their relationship, saying she’s grateful that “Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago.” As a brief refresher, in a 2023 episode of the pod, Travis complained about not being able to give Swift a friendship bracelet he made her for the Kansas stop of her Eras Tour. They started talking sometime after that, and a few months later, Swift showed up at the Kansas City Chiefs game heard round the world.
Apparently, the two of them find this really romantic. In Wednesday’s episode, Swift said the way Travis shot his shot was “such a wild romantic gesture” and compared it to “an ’80s John Hughes movie.” “He was just like, standing outside of my window with a boombox being like, ‘I wanna date you! Do you wanna go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet, do you wanna date me?’” she said. “I’ve been writing songs about wanting this to happen to me since I was a teenager.”
He taught her about football on their first date.
Taylor, despite having previously been an Eagles fan, says she didn’t really know much about football before dating Travis. On their first date, she apparently asked him what it was like to face off against his brother in a football game, and he told her that, actually, they’re never on the field at the same time because they both play offense. “I thought everyone was on the field at the same time,” she said, which she now realizes is an “insane question.”
Since then, Swift says, she’s become “obsessed” with football. “I became like a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, ‘We drafted Xavier Worthy!’ And my friends are like, ‘Who body-snatched you?’”
He’s really, really impressed with her vocabulary.
Travis seems to know he’s dating the brains of the relationship, and he’s pretty proud of that. During the podcast, he praised Taylor as the “smartest woman in the world” and kept applauding her use of words like “effervescence” and “fortuitous.” “She’s so hot when she says those big words,” he said after she dropped “esoteric.”

They’re embracing each other’s hobbies.
Travis, meanwhile, has apparently been watching a lot of otter videos on Instagram, something his girlfriend wholeheartedly supports. “I want a wild otter so bad,” he said. Taylor explained that Travis “wants one, specifically, whose life he saved.” “He doesn’t want to, like, go up to an otter and take it from its mother,” she said. “He wants to see an otter, and the otter’s like, ‘My paw’s caught in a shell!’ And he’s like, ‘I got you.’ And then the otter’s like, ‘Thank you forever’ with its little paws.” This is an actual verbatim quote from the episode.
She introduced his brother to the royal family.
As you might recall, Prince William took his kids to the Eras Tour in London in June 2024, and Taylor posted a selfie of her and Travis with them on Instagram. What we didn’t know is that Jason was there, too, holding a beer. “I watched him have this moment with his beer where he’s just like, ‘But I want to take it … but I know that I probably should not take it … If I don’t have my beer, what do I do with this hand now?’” Taylor recalled. Jason Kelce, man of the people.
Travis is really into numbers, too.
As is bound to happen when you’re dating Taylor Swift, Travis has apparently developed a passion for numerology. “Like, I’m 87 and she’s 13,” Travis said, referring to his jersey number and Taylor’s lucky number. “And we keep it 100.”
Jason then told Taylor that, like her, his lucky number is 13. “What does liking the number 13 say about us though?” Jason asked. “It says that we’re family,” Taylor replied.
They’re big time in love.
Throughout the episode, this couple could not stop piling elaborate compliments on each other. Taylor described Travis as “just a vibe booster in everyone’s life” and also “a human exclamation point.” Another vivid descriptor of his personality: “He’s like, when you take a picture on your phone, and you push the ‘enhance color’ button.”
Travis, meanwhile, recalled being “mesmerized” and “captivated” by seeing Taylor perform on the Eras Tour. “I had never just been so engulfed in the curiosity of who you were,” he said. Later, he added, “I had never experienced something so mesmerizing onstage and then so real and so beautiful in person.” Can you believe we’ve come all this way from seemingly ranch?
