Yung Miami Calls Diddy a ‘Good Man’ in Letter to Judge

by thenowvibe_admin

In a character reference letter to the judge sentencing her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs, former City Girls rapper Yung Miami asserts, “That’s a good man.” She begins the letter filed September 22 with a caveat that “I cannot speak on or defend anything that may have happened before I met Sean Combs.” In the four years that she’s known him, Miami said he was “loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging.”

Miami, real name Caresha Brownlee, credits Combs with influencing her personal development and professional success. Specifically, she cites how meaningful it was that he took her to the Met Gala in 2023, writing that “Sean has always made it a priority to open doors for Black people, to make sure we are seen, heard, and valued in spaces where we’ve historically been excluded.” After mentioning Combs’s anger management and therapy, she concludes that “Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community.” “He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically and spiritually,” she writes. “But more than anything, he’s a father and his kids are the ones who look up to him the most. They need him.”

The rapper and the disgraced producer first confirmed their relationship in June 2022, during the premiere episode of her podcast Caresha, Please produced by his former media company, Revolt. In December 2022, Diddy had a child with another woman but tweeted that Miami “is not my side chick. Never has been, never will be.” The two never confirmed a breakup, but Miami wrote in her letter that she “was” in a relationship with Diddy for three years. Diddy has seven kids in total, all of whom wrote letters except the youngest. The judge also received letters from Combs’s mother, Janice Combs, and his sister Keisha Combs-Dent, as well as producer Dallas Austin, and Diddy’s stepson with the late Kim Porter, Quincy Brown.

Diddy was convicted on July 2 of two counts of transportation for prostitution, but acquitted on his more serious counts, of racketeering and sex trafficking. While the maximum sentence for his conviction is 20 years in prison, his team has pushed for a total of 14 months. Given the time he has already served, that would set Diddy free almost immediately. Judge Arun Subramanian will make his decision on sentencing on October 3 after prosecutors file their sentencing recommendation.
