By now, we’ve seen so many photos from the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 you could probably string them all together and call it a movie. It’s hard to believe it, but we still haven’t seen any actual clips from the movie — until now. On Wednesday, we finally got our very first teaser, and at long last, we get to see these characters in motion, and not just in 1,000 different paparazzi pics.
The clip doesn’t reveal much, but it does give us our very first glimpse of Runway magazine’s offices. Unlike its competitors, it looks like the magazine somehow never had layoffs, considering how many people are seen bustling around the office in their chicest footwear. In the clip, Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly walks the halls of Runway in some spiked red Valentino pumps to the tune of Madonna’s “Vogue,” in case you forgot whom this movie is supposed to be about. Miranda gets into an elevator, where she is joined by Hathaway as Andy Sachs sliding in just as the doors close. “Took you long enough,” Miranda says, as Andy slides on some sunglasses, looking every bit Miranda’s protégée.

We also get some quick clips of some miscellaneous fashion-y happenings, including an exterior shot of the Museum of Natural History, which we already know from the on-set photos is the location of Runway’s version of the Met Gala.
So, what did we learn here? It’s hard to say, but if I were to wager a guess, it looks like Andy and Miranda are on way more equal ground than they were back in the original movie. Could Andy have ascended the ranks at Runway? Is she deputy editor now? Could she be the mastermind behind Runway’s digital strategy, causing them to be the rare success story in a bleak media landscape, thus explaining their mysteriously high employee headcount? I guess we will have to wait for an actual trailer — or even more on-set photos — to find out.
