Taylor Swift, by her own admission, may not be a “very online person,” but thankfully her mom, Andrea, is. When Swift’s now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, “called her out” on his podcast New Heights for not meeting him after her Kansas City Eras Tour stop, it was Andrea who saw the clip and became curious as to his whole deal. In the fourth episode of The End of an Era, “Thank You for the Lovely Bouquet,” Swift and her mom recount how exactly her whirlwind romance with the football player came to be. Neither Swift nor her mom really knew who Kelce was, so Andrea reached out to “her cousin Robin” — shout-out to cousin Robin — for information. What Robin relayed about Kelce was that he’s the “nicest guy” who loves his soon-to-be-on–The Traitors mom. This was obviously a huge perk for Andrea. But what Andrea most wanted was for Swift to try something different, loosely but somewhat explicitly nodding to the fact that her three boyfriends before Kelce were all moody British guys. Swift admits she’d never considered dating an athlete because she’s so “nonathlete” herself, but if the Eras Tour (and the End of an Era docuseries) prove anything, it’s that Swift has ascended to a type of athleticism over the past two years.

“Thank You for the Lovely Bouquet” also showcases Swift’s dancer Whyley Yoshimura and his wish to dance in the “… Ready for It?” sequence during the Reputation part of the tour. Swift typically only had female dancers for that song, but Yoshimura’s passion and exuberance for the music and choreography wins everyone over. When he goes out to perform it for the first time, we get a chance to see all the other dancers offstage doing the movements, their enthusiasm infectious. In the episode’s final moments, we return to this image, but this time it’s Kelce watching Swift during the Midnights set, mouthing the words and dancing in the crowd. Her profound relief seeing backstage after the show says more than any talking head could articulate. Even her mom is a bit speechless.
