Another day, another reason conservatives mad about Bad Bunny playing the Super Bowl are wrong. Bad Bunny was the most-listened-to artist on Spotify globally in 2025, the platform revealed on December 3 as part of its Wrapped celebration. In total, he scored 19.8 billion streams over the course of the year. His 2025 album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, propelled him to the top spot and was the most-streamed album of the year. He was joined in the top five by the most-streamed artists in the States: Taylor Swift at spot two, the Weeknd at No. 3, Drake at No. 4 (fraudulently?), and Billie Eilish at No. 5. One of Bad Bunny’s tracks, “DtMF,” is the only song that came out this year to be in the top-five most-streamed songs of the year. The others, “Die With a Smile,” “Birds of a Feather,” “APT.,” and “Ordinary,” all debuted in 2024. Granted, “DtMF” came out on January 5 with the rest of the album, but the stat stands.

Beyond the global stats, Spotify personalized Wrapped this year by including not just Top Albums (for the first time), Artists, and Songs, but also the Top 5 Artist Sprint, which shows how much you listened to your favorite artists month by month, and your “Club,” which refers to the type of music you listen to beyond genre. Plus “Wrapped Party” will compare your lists to your friends’. There’s one new analysis likely to send some folks into a tizzy: “Listening Age.” Based on the era of music that listeners are most drawn to, Spotify assigned each user a very precise number, like 73 or 16, that corresponded to their listening habits. The question for users now is whether it’s better to be younger than your actual age, and thus seem immature, or much older — and perhaps out of touch. Spotify Wrapped and identity crises already go hand in hand.
