Morgan Wallen Is Cashing In on His SNL Tantrum

by thenowvibe_admin

Over the weekend, controversial country star Morgan Wallen made headlines for abruptly leaving the SNL stage at the end of the show instead of sticking to the custom of hanging out and letting the cast tell him he did a great job. Not long after that, he posted a photo of a private jet to his Instagram Story with the caption, “Get me to God’s country,” leaving everyone to assume that 30 Rock had too many Black people and women in pants for his liking. And now, Wallen found a way to profit off his loser behavior by selling “God’s Country” merch.

In the days after his SNL episode, Wallen’s exit and subsequent post went viral, with “Get me to God’s country” quickly becoming its own meme format. God’s country is in the eye of the beholder, and it can be anything from the Criterion Closet to the SUR parking lot where they all used to smoke cigarettes on Vanderpump Rules.

Meanwhile, reps for Wallen told Variety that, contrary to what his behavior suggested, the singer actually had a good time on the show and there was no ill will intended in either his exit or his Instagram post. That vibe you were catching that he didn’t want to be there at all and hated everyone involved? That’s actually what it looks like when Wallen is having a good time. Variety later reported that Wallen had also turned down an appearance in a pretaped sketch, with Joe Jonas swooping in to replace him. Clearly, he loved his week on the show.

Wallen has not elaborated on what exactly he meant with that post, but after being the butt of the joke for a few days, he found a way to make the best of throwing a tantrum on live TV. On his website, you can now preorder a hat or a T-shirt emblazoned with “Get me to God’s country” (both $45, no free shipping, and taxes not included). The merch is going to ship by June, when this will definitely still be fresh and everyone in Nashville will applaud you for sticking it to those DEI-loving sketch-comedy communists by wearing an ugly hat.
