Man, that Ham is nonstop. Hamilton is conquering a new medium, Disney revealed on August 6. The company is bringing the pro shot of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s landmark musical, Hamilton, to movie theaters this fall in celebration of its tenth anniversary. The release will include a new prologue, Reuniting the Revolution, that features interviews with the cast and creators from the show. “When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to try to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year on Broadway,” Thomas Kail said in a statement, “and we’re thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.” The filmed version is currently still available on Disney+, and the live version is still on Broadway and on tour. The theatrical version (well, a different kind of theatrical) will begin playing in movie theaters on September 5 — the perfect time to bring any student starting the APUSH course this year.
