While Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist’s relationship status is still MIA, at least we know they’re still performing together on two new tracks on Young Thug’s latest album, UY SCUTI. “Invest Into You” gives a more romantic view of their relationship, with Young Thug promising to “flood you in roses” and for him to “invest into” their relationship. But in her verse, Mariah gives the same energy back, singing, “I want you for life, got me wishing, yeah/I love you like I never loved before/You’ll never find someone who loves you more.” Throughout the YSL trial, Mariah has shown nothing but support for Young Thug, calling his release “the greatest opportunity we’ve ever been presented with.”
It’s a huge contrast to their second song, “Dreams Rarely Do Come True,” where Mariah sings of feeling alone as “everything went numb,” possibly when all of the leaked phone calls with cheating allegations came out. “Viral on the internet and now my baby mad/Acting like I lost my playa card and went out bad,” Young Thug raps, alluding to a similar type of guilt as his posts on X about his regrets on what he said on the phone.

While Mariah’s collab with Young Thug was more of a surprisingly-still-there than just a surprise, there were more special guests on the new album. Cardi B, T.I., Sexyy Red, 21 Savage, and Travis Scott are just some of the guest spots on the album. This is his first full album since the end of the YSL trial and his formal release from prison, following his guilty plea on October 31, 2024. Earlier this year, and again amid his leaked phone calls scandal, Young Thug was called a “snitch” for cooperating with detectives during the trial. But at the time, he simply posted, “They didn’t play my interrogation video in court cause I helped my brada #Ratwhere?” on X, with Peewee Roscoe coming to his defense.
