Remember when the main counter-programming to the Super Bowl was just the Puppy Bowl? Simpler times. As part of the ongoing conservative freakout over having to hear Spanish during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Turning Point USA has pledged to put on their own “All American Halftime Show” to replace Bad Bunny’s. It bears repeating: Puerto Rico is an unincorporated American territory. Bad Bunny is as all-American as apple pie, and far more entertaining.
TPUSA, the far right organization founded by Charlie Kirk and now run by his widow Erika, made the announcement on social media. “Performers and event details coming soon,” it added, while also linking to a site where people can vote on what genre of music they want to hear (in exchange for signing up for TPUSA’s fundraising texts). These options include “Americana,” “Worship,” and “Anything in English.”

Members of the Trump administration have been losing it ever since Bad Bunny was announced as the headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Corey Lewandoski and South Park’s Kristi Noem both vowed that ICE would be at the game.
