It’s been three and a half years since we last heard a new Harry Styles song, but it might as well have been a million. In 2022, we were rich in Styles: an album, some music videos, and two different film appearances (along with a bonus film-festival spitting scandal). Since then, the singer has mostly been galavanting across Europe, running marathons, and most recently taking pap walks with maybe girlfriend Zoë Kravitz. It was starting to feel like we’d never get a new album ever again when the singer posted a video titled “Forever, Forever” on December 27 with scenes from his final concert of his Love On Tour run in Reggio Emilia, Italy before concluding with a pan to the crowd and text reading “We Belong Together.” That phrase, along with such aphorisms as “Treat people with kindness,” is rather Stylesian: New Wave–y, positive, loving. Styles was content to let the mystery linger into the New Year, but as of January 12, signs and posters popped up in cities including New York, São Paulo, and Rome with the same shot of his Italian crowd from that last concert and “We Belong Together.”

While there’s no confirmation of time or date for a new music drop or single release, fans have convinced themselves that something is coming at midnight on January 13. Styles’s site has been updated with a big arrow encouraging users to sign up for updates, and he’s launched a corresponding site called webelongtogether.co that features his beloved crowd from Love On Tour. Beyond that, we have no idea what the artist’s fourth album will bring, but it’s probably safe to guess that he’s back with another kinda flirty, kinda sad, and kinda trippy album of songs that will be stuck in your head all year, if not, as his video says, “forever, forever.”
