Now’s the Time to Get Caught Up on The Traitors

by thenowvibe_admin

Faithfuls, our time is nigh. Peacock announced the cast of season four of The Traitors, and my God, I haven’t been this excited since I listened to season-three winner Gabby Windey deliver a two-minute monologue about “leaky pussy” earlier this week. It seems the show’s casting directors are still pulling from the usual buckets (various Housewives franchises, Survivor, The Bachelor) but with increasing success? A few standouts: Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives Beverly Hills, Candiace Dillard Bassett from The Real Housewives of Potomac, The Bachelor’s Colton Underwood (who, as a reminder, traumatized a lot of women in sparkly gowns before coming out as gay), and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Monét X Change.

And now, for some unexpected guests set to arrive at Alan Cumming’s Gothic Scottish castle. Donna Kelce — yes, mother of footballers Travis and Jason Kelce and potential-maybe-someday mother-in-law to Taylor Swift — is making her debut. RHONY’s Dorinda Medley gets a second stab at the pot of gold after she became the first Faithful brutally murdered by the season-three Traitors. Love Island gets two notable entrants with USA season six’s Rob Rausch (better known as the snake-loving overalls guy who hid in the villa pool) and Aftersun host Maura “Are ya jokin’” Higgins, one of the franchise’s most successful U.K. bombshells. Plus, Dancing With the Stars’s Mark Ballas, Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti, and Olympic figure skaters Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski.

Rounding out the cast are Porsha Williams of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Caroline Stanbury of The Real Housewives of Dubai, Big Brother season-14 winner Ian Terry, Big Brother alum Tiffany Mitchell, Survivor alums Rob Cesternino, Natalie Anderson, and Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho, Top Chef host Kristen Kish, singer-songwriter Eric Nam, comedian Ron Funches, and, for some reason, actor Michael Rapaport, who has a history of making racist “jokes” and generally has rancid vibes. Some fans are threatening to boycott the series and cancel their Peacock subscriptions over his casting, calling it a “shameful” choice and going so far as to comment “platforming Michael rapaport … fire your casting director” and “Ugh I was so looking forward to seeing Rinna and Dorinda, but since you decided to cast Michael Rapaport, I’ll have to skip. Better luck next season!”

Aside from that rather large blemish, I’m so ready to watch Cumming scurry around the corridors of the castle in capes, little hats, and opera gloves. Certainly, he’ll have his hands full with this cast, who I predict will be salsa dancing and screaming in the castle all night long.
