Nicki Minaj briefly paused her Twitter war with Cardi B to praise her pal Taylor Swift’s new album. “Oh Taylor #WOOD was EXACTLY what I needed tonight. Thank you,” she posted an hour after the album dropped. It’s kind of beautiful to think of Minaj joining Swifties the world over to listen to The Life of a Showgirl at the same time. We all look up at the same moon, you know? Minaj extolled the virtues of Taylor Swift’s ode to Travis Kelce’s “new heights of manhood,” writing that the song sounds “exactly” like “falling in love with your soul mate.”
“Wood” was definitely Minaj’s favorite song on TLOAS, but she did rate a few other tracks quite highly. “Taylor said ‘I heard you called me boring Barbie when the Coke’s got your brain’. Why all the SAG’s giving out lashings tonight?” she wrote. It’s true that both Minaj and Swift are Sagitariuses. Here’s what The Cut says is happening to Sags today: “Sometimes, it’s embarrassing to have big feelings,” but trying to play it cool today will only backfire and it’s better to vent. P.S.: Madame Clairvoyant tells Charli XCX (alleged target of “Actually Romantic” and a Leo), “For better or for worse, life won’t turn out exactly the way you imagine.” As for Cardi (Libra), “You can’t expect yourself to control other people’s behavior.”

The certified bops in Nicki’s eyes include “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Eldest Daughter,” the title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter, and, of course, “CANCELLED!” She called the latter “diabolical.” But time and again, Minaj kept returning to “Wood.” We smell a guest verse on the remix.
