Taylor Swift performed for a crowd that is less than 2 percent of the size of her typical Eras Tour attendance when she went onstage at a 1,200-person Tight End University concert in Nashville on June 24. She gave a surprise performance of “Shake It Off” after fellow surprise guest Kane Brown performed his set, The Tennessean reports. “See the one thing tight ends have in common with Nashville musicians is we’re all friends, right?” Swift told fans when she came onstage, dedicating the song to “our favorite players who are going to play, the tight ends.”
Pointing to where boyfriend Travis Kelce, childhood bestie Abigail Berard, and Berard’s husband, Charles Berard, were stationed in VIP, Swift continued, “So you know, we’re up there and we’re having some drinks. We were thinking like, ‘How loud could this place get?’”

Swift borrowed a guitar from fellow performer (and former Survivor: Nicaragua contestant) Chase Rice and got Brown to play tambourine while she sang. “Honestly, have you ever seen a tambourine played like this?” Swift asked the crowd after her first chorus. “This is fantastic work by Mr. Kane Brown.” After the song ended, Swift revealed just how last minute the plan came together: “Will you please give it up for this amazing band who just figured out that we were going to play that three minutes ago?”

Tight End University brings 80 to 90 tight-end players from across the NFL to Nashville where they run drills and learn about recovery and rehabilitation, according to TEU’s website. It was founded by Kelce along with fellow tight ends George Kittle and Greg Olsen in 2021. The Brooklyn Bowl’s Tight Ends and Friends concert is the only event at the summit open to the public, and all proceeds made from the $35 standing-room tickets go to charity. After the night ended, Brown posted a picture of himself with Swift and Kelce on Instagram, captioned “When you think you’re the special guest BUT you’re not 😂” But Brown can’t be too mad — he’s the one with a song called “Famous Friends.”
