Exciting news for fans of tennis, soccer, and love: Tennis player Ben Shelton debuted his new girlfriend on social media this week, and she’s none other than Trinity Rodman — USWNT soccer star, Olympic athlete, and daughter of retired basketball legend Dennis Rodman.
On Monday, Shelton hard-launched his relationship with Rodman in an Instagram dump. The carousel of images includes the tennis player appearing to coif his hair in a hotel room, posing in front of a private jet with friends, and exiting a car with the couple’s big reveal at the very end. The final image was of the pair taking a mirror selfie in an elevator while Rodman kissed Shelton’s cheek. It seems like his tennis colleagues approve — Coco Gauff and Sloane Stephens both commented “hard launch” on the post.

While she wasn’t tagged, Rodman commented, “Shooters shoot I guess🤭👀,” referencing a TikTok trend where users publicly make a move on someone else. Earlier in March, Rodman and Shelton both posted their own “shooters shoot” videos seemingly aimed at one another, causing fans to speculate that they were together. Kids these days.
Besides both being extremely good at sports, these two can connect on other topics, such as having famous athlete dads. Like Rodman, Shelton is a sports nepo baby (his dad is former professional tennis player Bryan Shelton). The couple will have to draw straws on which sport to play at their next family gathering, I suppose.
