Now Billy McFarland Is Selling Fyre Festival

by thenowvibe_admin

The second Fyre Fest’s planned start date of May 30 is looking less and less likely. Around a week after the Fyre Festival 2 website announced the event was delayed (then deleted the post), Billy McFarland says he’s cashing out of the fest biz entirely. In a statement on Instagram, McFarland said he and his partners were selling the whole shebang to “the right buyer.” The deal would include the brand’s IP, trademarks, digital assets, and cultural capital — but not the sandwich recipe book? What about the water-distro guy, is he part of the deal? “Execute the vision,” McFarland urged buyers online. “Make history 🔥.”

Fyre Festival 2 ran into a snag earlier this month when the city of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, denied reports that it was willing and able to host. McFarland then said the festival was looking for a new venue and the dates would depend on the location. Then it was announced that he had sold some of the IP rights to Shawn Rech, who was looking to turn Fyre into a music streaming service. Now Fyre can be whatever you want it to be, should you cough up the dough.
