An album, a new season of Only Murders in the Building, and countless beauty launches took precedence over Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding planning when they announced their engagement on December 11, 2024. “We’re both working on so many things that we haven’t even had time to get into it, but we’re so excited,” Blanco told the Therapuss podcast on July 9. “I think this summer, we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Ok, what are we doing hun?’” Now that the summer’s almost up, how is the wedding planning going for Gomez and Blanco for their big day? “It’s wonderful,” Gomez updated on The Tonight Show on September 9. “I’m very lucky. Who’s going?
Several stars have already thrown their hat bouquet into the ring to be a part of the big day. During the original announcement, Taylor Swift called dibs on being “the flower girl.” Martin Short also offered his services as a ring bearer while on the Tonight Show. “Here’s your ring, Selena. Take it,” Short said as he mimicked Gollum. It’s a better alternative than his and Steve Martin’s other plan to “parachute in with hand mics and do something.” As for the rest of the guest list, Ed Sheeran, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place star David Henrie, and Nicky and Paris Hilton have all said they’ve been invited to the ceremony.

What was Selena’s bachelorette party like?
It looked like a good time. Gomez and friends jetted off to Cabo San Lucas to hang out on a yacht and enjoy some drinks and cheetos with tajin. My dream date… As for the bachelor party, Blanco’s trip to Vegas was all about food, aka eating bagels and hanging out with Marshmello. While the photos that Gomez shared had a very specific filter, Swift was not in attendance at the party — the bride-to-be got an Olympus camera of her own.
What about the food?
Blanco loves to cook and Gomez loves learning how to cook. But one thing that Gomez doesn’t want is a “big cake.” “I think I’d want a mini one for just us that we can freeze,” she explains on TikTok in July 2025. “My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy. My Nana’s biscuits and gravy — that sounds like dessert to me.”
