Nearly two months later, the fallout from Chris Martin catching a canoodling couple at a July Coldplay concert continues. NBC News reports that Kristin Cabot, the now-former head of HR for the tech start-up Astronomer who infamously hid her face after the Coldplay jumbotron landed on her and now-former CEO Andy Byron in a Titanic-esque embrace, has filed for divorce from her husband, businessman Andrew Cabot.
In case you need a refresher, Cabot and Byron were enjoying a July 16 Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when they appeared on the jumbotron, Byron’s arms wrapped snugly around Cabot from behind. When they immediately hid from the camera, Martin said from the stage, “What? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.” In the ensuing weeks, it became apparent that they actually were having an affair — Byron and Cabot both resigned from the company, while Byron’s wife removed the last name “Byron” from her Facebook profile and reportedly decamped to a mansion in Maine.
About a month later, per NBC, Cabot filed a petition for divorce on August 13 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. (According to the Daily Mail, she and Andrew Cabot had been married since 2023 — three years after she joined the advisory board of Privateer Rum, the company for which he currently serves as CEO.) A spokesperson for Andrew told People that he and Kristin “were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert,” adding, “Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, managed to track down Andrew’s ex-wife, who had a slightly different take on the situation: “He’s saying it has nothing to do with him, even though they were married and shared a house,” she observed. “But then, the only thing he cares about is money.” Harsh! But at least Chris Martin can rest assured that at least one of the two marriages he helped end that night was already on the rocks.
