During a press conference on July 28, former NFL player Deion Sanders revealed he underwent bladder-removal surgery in May to treat bladder cancer. Fortunately, the surgery was successful and he’s now cancer free. But that’s not the only news that was brought to light during Monday’s big reveal. The Colorado Buffaloes coach also released the first part of a video series documenting his surgical experience, and much to the internet’s surprise, Karrueche Tran makes an appearance less than a minute in.
We first see Tran with Sanders in the hospital, where she takes the reins from him to explain to the camera why they’re in a medical setting. “We are at the hospital because we are dealing with bladder cancer,” she says through tears. “He is having his bladder removed, and they will create a new bladder with one of his intestines. This option was, I guess, the best because it fully removes the cancer to ensure that it doesn’t come back, because it was close to his muscle.” Tran is present throughout the rest of the 18-minute video by the coach’s hospital bed, asking the doctors questions about his surgery and offering him support.

If this all feels a little random to you, you’re not alone: Besides a TMZ report claiming the two were recently spotted having lunch together, this appears to be the first time they’ve been publicly linked. Whether it’s romantic or not is unclear. I guess we’ll have to wait until the next part of the video series?
