Donald Trump will host a special competition called the Patriot Games for America’s 250th birthday, inviting “the greatest high-school athletes” — one teenage boy and one teenage girl from each state and territory — to compete in a four-day athletic competition sometime in the fall of 2026. Everyone’s wondering, Did he hear the news of the new Hunger Games movie and think, Good idea?
To make a bad idea worse, Trump added, “I promise there will be no men playing in women’s sports. You’re not going to see that. You’ll see anything but that.” He made that clarification in a video promoting Freedom 250, the “bipartisan initiative” planning the event. Nothing else on the official website gives any more details about what the Patriot Games will entail, but it’ll probably be updated once Trump watches Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
This was not the only competition Trump teased when launching Freedom 250. He also shared that there will be physical fighting (a UFC event) happening on June 16 at the White House on the South Lawn. “It’ll be the greatest champion fighters in the world, all fighting that same night. The great Dana White is hosting, and it’s going to be something special,” Trump explained. He’s right — it is going to be something.
