The Billboard Album Chart Reenters Its Reputation Era

by thenowvibe_admin

Newly emboldened Swifties across the globe have put Taylor Swift’s Reputation (regular version) back in the Billboard album chart top 5. Swift bought back her masters from the Roy E. Disney-founded Shamrock Capital at the end of last month, and now people can stream all the “Delicate” their hearts desire. Reputation jumped 73 spots on the Billboard 200, landing at number 5, with 42,000 album-equivalent units. This is the first time the album has been that high since 2018. Reputation had already been trending upward, with fans streaming the album in anticipation of Rep (TV). Will Swift capitalize on this freedom from Capital and do a vinyl reissue? Only time will tell. There’s also still hope for a the Reputation rerecord to see the light of day. Sure, it’s only a quarter complete now, but at one point, weren’t we all?

Just above Swift on the album chart is Something Beautiful, the new album from Miley Cyrus. Maybe people are waiting for the big screen debut of the Something Beautiful visual album to make sales pop off. In the top 3 were Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem, followed by Seventeen 5th Album Happy Burstday and SOS by SZA.
