Where are you Christmas Christine Baranski? The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honored bands like Outkast, the White Stripes, and Soundgarden. But also the 2000 Ron Howard film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Jim Carrey (da Grinch) and Taylor Momsen (Cindy Lou Who, lead singer of The Pretty Reckless) met up on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. Carrey was there to help induct Soundgarden, a band he personally requested as the musical guest the first time he hosted Saturday Night Live. “During rehearsal, they launched into the dark, epic beauty of ‘Pretty Noose.’ I stood right in front of them, letting the waves of electricity wash over me like an audio baptism,” he said during his speech. “They pushed me under, and when I came up, I was free.” Momsen was there for Soundgarden as well, fronting the reunited band as they played “Rusty Cage.”

Speaking to People, Momsen said she had too many fond memories of making How the Grinch Stole Christmas to pick just one. “I just love that he was very protective of me,” she said. “He was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming Grinch and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful.” About that makeup: famously, getting Grinch’d up was so tortuous that the producers hired a CIA consultant to help Carrey learn to endure the unendurable. So remember that the next time you’re laughing at all the Who’s in Whoville this Christmas.
