Surprise! Sia is a new(ish) mom. The singer quietly welcomed a baby 11 months ago named Somersault Wonder Bernad with her ex, Dan Bernad. Do they call the baby Summer for short? How about Salt? Flippy McGee? Whatever it is, congrats to her.
News of the baby was made public via Sia and Bernard’s divorce papers, which she filed Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. According to documents obtained by People, she also requested legal and physical custody of their child, whom she listed as, again, Somersault Wonder Bernad.
Sia has two other kids: In 2019, she adopted two teenage boys who were about to age out of the foster-care system. (Their names aren’t public, but she has referred to one of her sons as “Che.”) Anyway, wishing Sia and her whimsically named family all the best. I’m excited to see what kind of forward rolls Somersault brings to the world.
