Kyle Gass Says Tenacious D Will Return

by thenowvibe_admin

Never, not for one second, doubt that Jables loves his Rage Kage. Kyle Gass confirmed to Rolling Stone that Tenacious D will return. “We’re gonna come back,” he says. “It’s gonna be bigger than Oasis!” Onstage in Australia in July 2024, Gass made what he thought was a silly goofy birthday wish: that the next would-be Trump assassin not miss. “It was terrible judgment, obviously,” Gass says. “I’ve felt terrible ever since, because it’s such a responsibility to not screw up like that.” The remarks got picked up by the right-wing outrage machine, with some calling for Gass to be deported back to America. In the aftermath, Black issued a statement canceling the D’s tour and putting further projects on hold.

Gass says one reason the band had to cancel their world tour was concern for everyone’s safety, including the band’s families. “Somebody called my mom,” he says. “My poor 95-year-old mom. It hits close to home, and you want to be brave and courageous, but I’m not a congressman. We’re just entertainers.”

Gass says he doesn’t begrudge Black for distancing himself: “We had to take the break. And I got it. Jack has this magnificent career; I can’t even count the franchises now. So as hard as it was, I just had to take the long ride home.” The ride still appears to be ongoing, however. When asked about a potential reunion date, Gass says, “We will serve no D-wine before it’s D-time.” But the bond between bandmates remains strong. Gass says the pair hashed things out a while back, and Black said something similar in August 2024. They know just how rare it is to be in Tenacious D.
