The White House is attempting to ruin the song of the summer, the “Jet2 Holiday” commercial — and by extension, “Hold My Hand” by Jess Glynne. And Jess Glynne is not having it. The White House’s official Twitter account released a version of the “Jet2 Holiday” meme, only this time it’s about ICE deportations. Get it? Do you get it? Glynne got it, but she didn’t want to have it. Writing on Instagram stories, Glynne said “This post honestly makes me sick. My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity — never about division or hate.”
If somehow the first time you’re hearing anything about a Jet2 Holiday is from the official White House Twitter account, allow us to explain. The audio comes from a commercial for British budget airline Jet2. The ad came out in December 2022 but has been gaining steam ever since. It’s kind of the Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” of memes.

This is not the first time the White House social media has tried to edgelord its way into popularity. The account made a fake ASMR video on the same anti-immigration theme, posted an AI portrait of Trump as the Pope right after Pope Francis died, and also reworked the “You Look Happier” TikTok meme as pro-ICE. We must protect the Rizzler, the Labubu on Karl Marx’s grave, and Dubai chocolate at all costs.
