Francis Ford Coppola was admitted to a hospital in Rome, after attending a screening of Megalopolis at the Magna Gracie Film Festival. But relax! It was for scheduled heart surgery. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director is “resting nicely” after a scheduled heart procedure with Dr. Andrea Natale. Natale has been Coppola’s cardiovascular doctor for over 30 years. “All is well and he appreciates everyone’s concern,” a source told People.
Besides getting heart surgery, Coppola is reportedly scouting locations for his next project while in Italy. A local news source reported that Coppola was working on a film set in Calabria, but that is far from his previous mafia-aligned work in the country. “Calabria is a region very famous for its mafia, but that doesn’t interest me,” he told reporters. “My film instead will focus solely on the beautiful things about this region.”

Earlier this month, Coppola spoke about his view on death, namely that he’s living más until it happens. “I’m 85,” he said, according to SFGate. “I lost my wife a year ago, around this time. But my attitude for death is that I always lived my life so that when I was at the moment approaching death, I wouldn’t say, ‘Oh, I wish I had done this and I wish I had done that.’ Instead, I say to myself, ‘I got to do this.’”
