FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf Settle Sexual-Battery Lawsuit

by thenowvibe_admin

FKA Twigs filed to end her sexual-battery lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf on July 18 upon reaching a settlement. The dismissal was entered on July 21, per the court filings. Twigs first sued LaBeouf for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress in December 2020 following their 2018–19 relationship. “Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court,” both sides’ lawyers said in a statement, per Variety. “While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.” Twigs filed the request for dismissal with prejudice, meaning she will not be able to refile the same claims in the future.

Twigs’s original court filing claimed that LaBeouf subjected her to “relentless abuse” that included grabbing her “to the point of bruising” and knowingly giving her an STI. “What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in the whole of my life,” she told the New York Times at the time. “I don’t think people would ever think that it would happen to me. But I think that’s the thing. It can happen to anybody.”
