Drake and Bobbi Althoff Rewrite Their Friendship

by thenowvibe_admin

You wanna hear a story about how Drake and this podcaster here fell out? It’s kind of short, but we’ve been waiting years, so we might as well tell it. Bobbi Althoff tucked herself back into bed with the litigious rapper for a redo of the viral July 2023 podcast interview that ultimately led to cheating rumors amid her divorce, Drake blocking her on all platforms, and Althoff removing the video from the internet. Apparently, they’ve made up, and what better way to promote her new podcast, Not This Again, than to get on his private jet and follow him around Europe for days just to get one hour and 22 minutes of their painfully sarcastic rapport — and the answer to whether or not he Photoshopped his abs that one time: “No.”

What happened between Drake and Bobbi Althoff?

The girls were fighting. While they dodged the topic at first, Althoff pinpoints an argument they had before Drake’s August 13, 2023, concert in L.A. as the beginning of the end.

“I think because of our communication before that and because we weren’t really on the best of terms when I went because we had that little back-and-forth, I felt that you were mad at me there,” Althoff explains. “I sent you a nice little message when you were still onstage, and I was like, ‘Fuck you,’ basically.” During a break in the show’s encore with 21 Savage, Drake let off a “long” response (he would), and, according to Althoff, “within 20 minutes, I’m blocked on text, Instagram, everywhere, and the interview has to be taken down.” Drake’s reasoning? “Well, it wasn’t very nice.”

“You made me feel like our interview was the reason that your life was bad,” he adds, before saying in an evil affectation, “and I said, ‘Well, I’m gonna get rid of the interview then, and you don’t ever have to see it ever again a day in your life.’”

Wait, it sounds like they were really close.

Althoff previously stated their relationship was not romantic, but it’s clear that it got stronger after the original interview. “I felt like the one day we got to know each other, I was like, ‘I could see myself being friends with this person,’ and then I didn’t feel like you were being a very good friend with what was happening in my life at the moment,” Althoff says in the new episode. Honestly, it sounds as delusional as the Love Island USA cast at the reunion, but like a good friend, Drake receives it and considers how he himself was triggered in his response. “It’s the same way even in music, people will be like, ‘Oh, you’re a culture vulture,’ or people will describe the collaborative efforts that I’ve put forth and the artists that I’ve picked up and lifted up or shined a light on as me taking, you know, they’ll put a negative spin on it and try and tell me that it’s a self-serving thing,” he says. “I get really sensitive about that.”

Both apologize and then spend the rest of the podcast talking about anything else, from BBLs to Tyga to motherhood.

Does Drake mention, you know, the whole Kendrick Lamar thing?

The most unbothered guy ever wants you to know he’s unbothered. Drake only mentions his rivalry with Lamar tangentially, remarking that Althoff’s friends have probably been off his music “for the last little bit” if they’re from L.A. He doesn’t even take a swing at Universal Music Group, which he’s currently spending Birkin bag money suing for alleged defamation and harassment related to the release and promotion of “Not Like Us.” Nope, instead, Drake had smoke for the “fucking losers, these, like, ‘storied’ journalists who feel so entitled to this interview.” Oh, “no disrespect” to Zane Lowe, though.
