Someone was so teensy that they had to be held aloft to reach the mic and accept their Grammy. No, not Sabrina Carpenter. Father-daughter duo Fyütch and Aura V won Best Children’s Music Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards, making Aura V the youngest individually named Grammy winner in history. At just 8 years old, she takes the title from Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who won a Grammy at 9. She was a featured artist on “BROWN SKIN GIRL,” which won Best Music Video in 2021. “Shout-out to Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy,” Fyütch told Baltimore’s WMAR before the ceremony. “But we’re coming for that record.”
In their acceptance speech, Fyütch stressed the importance of children’s education and modeling self-love. “Children’s music is more than a genre; it is an intention of artists who have dedicated our crafts to educating entreating and empowering the next generation — which is our highest calling,” he said. “I don’t think I’m being controversial when I say this: We are failing our children. Any time we vote against feeding, protecting, clothing, educating our kids, we are condemning our collective future … This is activism, this is revolution, modeling things like harmony community and self-love.” He also shouted out Ms. Rachel, saying, “She’s not on this album, but she’s doing God’s work right now.” Aura V had a shout-out of her own: “Shout-out to Laufey,” she said. “I just saw her on the red carpet, and I got to talk to her for a little bit. And I know that she just won a Grammy, too, so congratulations to her.”
