Well, well, well, looks like Maggie Gyllenhaal has decided to take a very hairy fashion risk. On Tuesday, the actress wore Schiaparelli’s $2,278 braided tie during a CinemaCon appearance to promote her 2026 film The Bride. Essentially, it’s a tie that looks like one long braid of hair, and Gyllenhaal paired it with a black-and-white Schiaparelli suit. Because nothing goes better with good tailoring than some stylish hair.
The tie, which is actually made not of human hair but of nylon and brass, first debuted on Schiaparelli’s runway in 2024 and has since appeared on the necks of Selma Blair and Tilda Swinton. Gyllenhaal selected the brunette version to introduce a preview of her punk-rock take on the Bride of Frankenstein alongside The Bride’s star Jessie Buckley.
Who knows what famous neck this tie will pop up on next? I could see Melania working it into her new menswear wardrobe.
