What better way to return to the stage after a highly publicized trial than via helicopter? That’s how A$AP Rocky approached his grand entrance to hip-hop festival Rolling Loud this weekend — his first performance since he was acquitted of felony assault last month, per the Los Angeles Times.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an A$AP show without Rihanna in the crowd. The mother of his two children showed up to support her man in a see-through navy skirt complete with a thigh-high slit and a diamond choker. I believe that’s Rihanna-speak for “We’re so back.”
Also in attendance for Rocky’s big comeback show: Blue Ivy. Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter was spotted, parentless, being escorted near the front of the stage ahead of Rihanna. Now that’s a Mad Libs celebrity pairing I can get behind.
As Saturday’s headlining act, Rocky began his set hovering over the crowd in a helicopter held up by a crane, before rappelling down to the stage on a wire. During the dramatic entrance, he played footage from his trial. “I’m so happy to see y’all right now, y’all don’t even understand,” he reportedly told the audience once he’d landed onstage. “It got real sticky real quick.”
