Nicolandria Nation, stand up! We just got a ringing endorsement from the reigning queen of the villa, Amaya Papaya. On Wednesday, the Love Island USA winner (real name: Amaya Espinal) appeared on Call Her Daddy for her requisite victory lap and told Alex Cooper that she really believes in the romance between fellow contestants Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen.
Cooper asked which couple Espinal thinks has the best chance of making it in the real world (other than Espinal and Bryan Arenales), and she had her answer ready. “I would have to say Olandria and Nic,” she said, shocking Cooper. “Olandria and Nic’s families spoke about cookouts already and inviting each other over to their households. So I really do think they’re going to be a good couple.”
Cooper’s visible jaw drop might be owed to the fact that the Nicolandria ship was, for a long time, reserved solely for true believers. The idea that they would wind up coming in second place seemed like fan fiction. To recap: The pair developed a friendship early on in the season while they were coupled up with other people, then they got the chance to pair up after a shocking elimination, then they went back to being friends after sharing a really passionate kiss. Then Vansteenberghe’s partner was kicked off the show, at which point these two could finally start a relationship in earnest.

Now look at them. They’re out of the villa looking booed up at Disneyland and watching Madea movies while cuddling on the couch. Apologies to the other couples who left the villa together, but this is looking like the real deal.
After getting the stamp of approval from Espinal, I’m going to need the fan-cam editors to get to work. I want to see one that opens with Espinal saying “they’re going to be a good couple” with Taylor Swift’s “The Alchemy” playing softly in the background, only for the bridge to crash in over the best Nicolandria clips (him running down the hallway to her in the SUV, him carrying her like a sack of potatoes, them cackling on the daybed — you know the ones). If I could get that on my FYP by EOD, that would be amazing.
