Orlando Bloom is apparently in that stage of a breakup where quote carousels on Instagram are really speaking to him. The actor, who reportedly recently split with fiancée Katy Perry after a six-year engagement, is fresh off the Bezos-Sánchez wedding and the Ritz-Carlton superyacht and is now in a contemplative mood. Over the past couple of days, Bloom has reposted quotes about loneliness and “new beginnings.”
On Monday, Bloom shared a post from @taomeditations that quotes Gautama Buddha to his Instagram Story. “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most,” the post read. According to People, he then shared a promotional clip from his new Amazon show before posting another inspirational missive. The text reads “Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda … The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.”
Bloom took a couple days off and then got back to his sad-boy posting on Wednesday. This time around, he went for a more western flavor, sharing a post from @sapienkind to his Instagram Story that quotes Carl Jung. “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself,” reads one of the quotes Bloom shared. “We are not what happened to us, we are what we choose to become,” reads another. The post resonated with Bloom so much that he took the whole thing and reposted it to his feed.

A quick scroll through Bloom’s profile reveals that he is not regularly posting inspirational quotes straight to the grid, which leads me to believe that he’s really going through it right now. Perry, on the other hand, is keeping any emotional turmoil offline. Her last post was a beaming selfie from Australia in which she’s posing with one of the country’s cutest animals. “Mood: Quokka,” she wrote. Everyone processes things differently.
