Lately, Kanye West has been up to his usual antics — namely, selling swastika T-shirts and pleading with President Trump to free Diddy. But things seem to be getting increasingly ugly between the rapper and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, when it comes to their oldest daughter, North West. Per TMZ, Kardashian abruptly ended North’s visit with her father last week upon learning that Andrew and Tristan Tate were on their way to meet with West. Understandably, it seems Kardashian was less than ecstatic about the idea of her 11-year-old hanging around the far-right social-media stars who were arrested and charged with rape, sex trafficking, money laundering, and organized crime just two years ago. (The Tates have denied these charges.)
Reports of the incident emerged amid what seems like a particularly strained custody situation between West and Kardashian. Last week, according to TMZ, Kardashian got wind of a song West recorded that featured North alongside disgraced music mogul Diddy, who is currently in jail awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The exes and their lawyers allegedly met with a mediator in an emergency hearing last week, where Kardashian asked West not to release the song.
Over the weekend, West did indeed drop the track, seemingly against Kardashian’s wishes, along with what appears to be a text conversation between the two of them arguing over the trademark of North’s name. Now, TMZ claims both Kardashian and West are allegedly exploring options for sole custody.
The Cut has reached out to Kardashian and West for comment, and will update this post if we hear back.
