Yesterday, Hailey Bieber made her solo debut on the cover of Vogue — a major moment in her modeling career but one that was swiftly overshadowed by her husband Justin Bieber’s response. He shared the cover in an Instagram post and in a since-deleted caption revealed he and Hailey once “got into a huge fight” during which he told her “she would never be on the cover of Vogue.”
“Yikes I know, so mean,” Justin wrote, explaining he made the harsh comment because he “felt disrespected” and “thought I gotta get even.” Since then, he said he has learned “that we’re not helping anything by getting even” and are instead “just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.”

Justin closed things out with an apology to his wife: “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”

Needless to say, Justin faced quite a bit of backlash in the comments and across social media, with fans questioning why he would say something like that to his wife — and then share it publicly during a major career moment for her. By Wednesday morning, Justin had since deleted the caption, replacing it with a few carefully curated emoji — a shrug, heart hands, a pointing finger, and a teary-eyed face — suggesting he was sorry.
