Over the past few years, more and more celebrities are talking (however selectively) about which cosmetic surgeries they’ve undergone — and which procedures they’d take back if they could. Julia Fox has long been transparent about what she’s gotten done, and she’s cheered on fellow stars who’ve spoken about it themselves. Now, she’s taking it a step further by discussing her plastic-surgery regrets. In an interview with Allure that came out on Tuesday, Fox said she wishes she “could go back” and opt out of cosmetic work altogether.
Previously, Fox has said she’s gotten liposuction, Botox, a nose job, and veneers. She started getting those procedures around age 21 in order to appeal to men, she told Allure. “Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything … I wish I could go back and be that person,” she said. “I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive.”
When celebrities undergo procedure after procedure intended to reduce the visible signs of aging, Fox thinks there’s “something to be said” about the beauty of aging naturally. Still, she admitted to fears about how her appearance will change with time. “When you’re young and hot, it’s like that’s your identity. Then you’re like, Shit, I need to stay young and hot,” she said.

Fox acknowledged she “probably will” get more work done, but said she’s “just not as concerned with it right now.” Now that she’s 35 — a decade and a half after her first cosmetic surgery — she said she’s weighing what her approach to it will be in this next era of her life. “Am I going to chase the way I used to look, or am I going to evolve and see what’s on the other side? It could be something totally different, and I’m choosing to go that way. I just want to see who’s there waiting for me,” she said. “It’ll definitely be uncomfortable, but I think I’m ready for it.”
