The Paul Dano and Quentin Tarantino beef is now getting fan fiction. Or maybe it’s the truth disguised as speculation; only time will tell. Jack Black shares his thoughts about Tarantino’s comments on Dano’s acting skills, jokingly calling the slander a “career boost” when promoting his new movie Anaconda, with Paul Rudd. “My theory is they got personal beef,” Black told CBR while rubbing his fingers together and wiggling his eyebrows. “I can’t believe anyone would say anything bad. I think there’s personal beef.” Black offered to say some harsh words about another beloved Paul, his co-star Rudd, in case he wanted a “career boost” or praise from his Hollywood colleagues. “Paul Rudd is maybe the worst actor in SAG,” Black says before sinking his head, trying to hold in a laugh.

Earlier this month, Tarantino called Dano the “worst actor in SAG” and his performance in There Will Be Blood “weak sauce” on a podcast, sneaking in criticism for Matthew Lillard and Owen Wilson as well. But because Tarantino had the harshest words for Dano, Hollywood rallied together, and stars like Ben Stiller and Ethan Hawke shared their love for Dano’s character on and off screen.
