Nothing brings old friends together like coinciding divorces. In an interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday, Leah Remini addressed speculation that she and Jennifer Lopez, her gal pal of more than 20 years, were feuding. Actually, she said, they’re totally fine, and they recently sent each other “loving messages of support” while going through divorces at the same time.
Rumors about the state of Remini and J.Lo’s decades-spanning friendship started when Remini skipped out on J.Lo and Ben Affleck’s second 2022 wedding ceremony. Though an anonymous “Page Six” source claimed they’d gotten into a fight when Remini called Affleck “selfish,” someone else told TMZ Remini was just busy helping her daughter, Sofia, pack up for her freshman year of college. But if the wedding was ever really a source of contention, it seems the women’s respective divorces in 2024 were the glue needed to bring them back together. “After the divorce, we’d text each other loving messages of support,” Remini said. How thoughtful.

Though the drama of J.Lo’s whiplash breakup with Affleck has dominated the tabloids, Remini’s marriage also ended last year. Roughly one week after Lopez filed for divorce, Remini followed suit and marked the end of her 21-year relationship with Angelo Pagán, with whom she shares 20-year-old Sofia.
It sounds like filing for divorce within a month of each other really gave J.Lo and Remini something to bond about. “Sometimes you don’t talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn’t mean the love is lost,” Remini said. “Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn’t mean we’re at odds … It’s just that I’m at a different place and so are they.”
Well, there you have it: No feud. Just two women getting older, raising their children, and going through divorce. Sounds like these two would be right at home in the third season of And Just Like That … All that’s missing is a really big hat.
