I Believe in Timothée and Kylie’s Love

If you think about it, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet make perfect sense as a couple. They both love fashion, they’re both rap-adjacent, and they both have rabid fan bases who track their every movement. That’s so much stuff to talk about! While it somehow feels like both just yesterday and about ten years ago, these two started dating in 2023. Since then, they’ve made out at a Beyoncé concert, gone to a bunch of Knicks games together, and worn matching orange outfits to promote Marty Supreme. Now, we’re heading into yet another big awards season for Timmy, and I’m starting to believe these two are the real deal. Here, everything we know about Kymothée.

Deuxmoi kicked things off

The Instagram page devoted to occasionally true celebrity gossip shared a tip in early April of 2023. “Multiple sources have told me that Timmy C has a new girl… Kylie Jenner,” it read, followed by two coffin emoji. Shortly after, another tip came in, claiming that they could confirm the new couple. The second source said that they had known about them since Paris Fashion Week, which had taken place in January.

Soon after the rumors began, someone from Jenner’s camp decided to set things straight. An anonymous source “close to Jenner” told People that she and Chalamet were “hanging out and getting to know each other.” That same day we got an example of what their version of hanging out was when they were spotted pulling up to a taco spot in L.A. in separate blacked out SUVs. Ah, romance.

They stayed low-key for a bit

The couple stayed relatively private following the massive burst of attention they received after news of their relationship broke. A source told Entertainment Tonight that they were “keeping things casual,” but that Kylie was “having a lot of fun” with the actor. She was spotted a couple times coming and going from his L.A. home, but there was nothing to write home about.

They hard-launched at the Beyoncé concert

In September 2023, seemingly every celebrity in the world went to Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour show in Los Angeles. However, it was Chalamet and Jenner who made the biggest wave. The couple effectively hard launched their relationship at the show, where they smooched for the whole world to see. We also got to learn that Chalamet is the kind of guy who would smoke a cigarette inside an arena.

It was at this point that we here at the Cut could no longer deny the evidence: Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were officially dating. Much like Club Chalamet, we were kind of shaken.

The dam was broken

After the Beyoncé concert, the couple entered a more public-facing period of their relationship. They canoodled at the U.S. Open in sort-of-matching outfits, bringing Hollywood sex appeal to tennis a full six months before Challengers hit theaters. While Jenner was attending the Prada show during Milan Fashion Week, she accidentally revealed that the lock screen on her phone was a close-up pic of Chalamet kissing her cheek.

They supported each other at work

The winter was all about business for Jenner and Chalamet. In November 2023, she was honored at the WSJ Mag Innovator Awards as part of the promo for her new clothing brand, Khy. He was there not as her date, but as the person presenting Martin Scorsese with his own Innovator Award (the director and Jenner are kind of on equal footing when it comes to innovation). Nonetheless, Chalamet and Jenner sat next to each other that evening and were reportedly “smiling and chatting” throughout the evening.

A little more than a week later, Chalamet hosted Saturday Night Live and Jenner showed up at the after-party in support of her boyfriend. He was promoting Wonka at the time, and in December it was reported that Jenner had been to two of the movie’s premieres. At this point you really had to accept that they were in love because there’s really no other reason to see Wonka more than once unless you’re bringing your kids (Stormi and Aire were nowhere to be seen).

Timmy became part of the family

Thanks to a stray Snapchat post from Travis Barker’s son, it was revealed that Chalamet was a guest at the Kardashian family’s annual Christmas Eve party in 2023. Love actually is all around.

Kymothée became Work-Event Official

While the couple had previously attended each other’s work events, I don’t think it really counts until it’s broadcast live on national television. In January 2024, Chalamet brought Jenner as his date to the Golden Globes, where he was nominated for Wonka. The cameras were on them all night as they chatted, smooched, and stared lovingly into each other’s eyes. It was at this point that I let my icy heart thaw a bit and admitted that these two made for a very cute couple.

The night was not without its drama, though. Remember the Selena Gomez lip-reading debacle? Someone claimed that Gomez told Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller that Jenner had barred her from getting a photo with Chalamet. Gomez later claimed that she was actually telling them about two friends of hers that had just hooked up, but the news cycle on this story seemed never-ending. Was Kylie mean? Was Selena overblowing things? Should we ban all lip-reading forever?

They made their annual Golden Globes appearance

These two really do lay low, but who are they to deny the allure of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association? Jenner and Chalamet made a rare appearance together at the 2025 Golden Globes, where he was nominated for his performance in A Complete Unknown. (It’s kind of funny that Jenner, of all people, is dating the final boss of Bob Dylan Boyfriends.)

Kylie came back to SNL

Chalamet continued his Bob Dylan awards-show crusade with a late-January appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he both hosted and performed a handful of Dylan songs as the musical guest. Kylie was reportedly in the audience, and later that night they were seen leaving the cast after-party together. Do you think she remembered all the writers’ names from last time?

They sat front row at the Oscars

In March 2025, Jenner accompanied her man to the Oscars, where he was nominated for Best Actor for A Complete Unknown. He wound up losing to Adrien Brody, but it seems like they had a good time anyway. They shared a kiss, they sat in the very front row, and afterward they partied with their siblings.

More PDA at public events

Next came a very big era in Chalamet and Jenner’s relationship: smooching a bunch in public. The two spent the next couple of months going to a smattering of events — the Indian Wells Open, Coachella, and a Lakers game — and spent at least 40 percent of said events kissing.

They made their red-carpet debut

Chalamet and Jenner reached a major milestone in May: the red-carpet debut. The pair made it step-and-repeat official at the 70th David di Donatello Awards in Rome, where Chalamet received an honorary award for Cinematic Excellence.

Kylie committed to Timothée’s basketball team

In May, during the Knicks’ exhilarating playoffs streak, Chalamet’s love of basketball began rubbing off on his girlfriend. The two were spotted at a bunch of Knicks games, and Jenner started incorporating orange and blue into her courtside wardrobe (and lingerie collection). If you’re wondering if Jenner actually gives a damn about basketball, you may have a point — after the Knicks beat the Pacers, Jenner reposted a TikTok video of a Sex and the City scene in which Samantha says, “I don’t get laid unless the Knicks win.”

Kylie followed her boyfriend on Instagram

It only took two years, but in July, Jenner finally followed her boyfriend on Instagram.

They faced (and quashed) breakup rumors

Our usually very-public couple were spotted together a little less than usual in the summer of 2025, and Chalamet missed Jenner’s 28th birthday party, prompting speculation that they had called it quits. But in August, they put those rumors to rest after they were spotted together at a coffee shop in Budapest, where they posed for a selfie with the staff. According to tabloids, they were both just really busy — Chalamet with filming Dune: Part Three in Budapest and Jenner with motherhood. “Even though Kylie has a private jet, the flight is still 12 hours,” a source told People. “She’s a mom and she works as well. She has a lot of responsibilities in L.A. Timothée’s schedule is grueling, with very little downtime.”

The Marty Supreme press tour made room for Kylie

In October, Chalamet began promoting Marty Supreme, and Jenner was by his side for much of the press tour. She cheered him on from backstage during the movie’s New York Film Festival premiere and celebrated with him at the Waverly Inn after-party.

A couple months later, in December, Jenner and Chalamet showed up to the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme wearing matching bright-orange outfits. Chalamet accessorized his look with a leather cross-body bag shaped like a Ping-Pong paddle. Good thing our newfound Knicks fangirl bought all that orange clothing, huh?

Kylie made it into an acceptance speech

In January, Chalamet kicked off awards season with a Best Actor nod at the Critics Choice Awards for Marty Supreme, and he gave his girlfriend a sweet shout-out in his acceptance speech. “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you,” he said. “I couldn’t do this without you.” Jenner, for her part, mouthed “I love you” back to him, looking like a very proud girlfriend.
