Everything We Know About Taylor Swift’s New Album

by thenowvibe_admin

A new era is dawning. On Tuesday, Taylor Swift revealed that she’s releasing her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, sometime in the foreseeable future. This will be her first album since wrapping up the Eras Tour and buying back her masters, and naturally, Swifties are frantically speculating about what she’s cooking up next. Here’s everything we know so far.

How did she announce it?

Only Taylor could get her fans to listen to a football podcast. In an episode that will air this week, Swift is making her first-ever appearance on her boyfriend’s podcast, New Heights, and used a teaser for the episode to announce the big news. In a clip from the podcast, which will drop in full on Wednesday, Swift pulled a copy of the record — cover blurred — out of a briefcase. “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift told Travis and Jason Kelce. “T.S. 12!!!” Travis yelled while Jason wordlessly screamed. Same.

What will the album sound like?

We don’t know much yet, but Swift has dropped one major clue about the sound. Right after the New Heights teaser came out on Tuesday, the singer released a Spotify playlist titled “And, baby, that’s show business for you.” The playlist includes 22 of her songs (get it?), all of which are from 1989, Red, and Reputation — and all of which were produced by Max Martin and Shellback.

The playlist seems to signal the Swedish producers’ involvement in the new album, which is very big news in the Swiftieverse. Martin and Shellback haven’t worked with Swift since 2017’s Reputation, and the two produced some of her biggest hits, including “Blank Space” and “Delicate.” This all hints at The Life of a Showgirl potentially being a return to shimmery, poppy, glitter-gel-pen form for Swift.

One notable omission from the playlist? Anything produced by Jack Antonoff, Swift’s frequent collaborator. Sorry, Jack.

Is a Taylor Swift–Sabrina Carpenter collab coming?

So glad you asked. Fans are also theorizing that Sabrina Carpenter has a feature on the album after Taylor Nation included a photo of Swift with Carpenter in its Instagram carousel.

What’s the color scheme?

Visually, the album seems to be leaning into a sparkly mint green and orange aesthetic. Fun!

When does it come out?

Swift has yet to announce the album’s release date, but at the very least, it seems like it’s coming pretty soon. According to her website, vinyls will ship sometime before October 13.
