I wouldn’t necessarily describe the mother-daughter relationships on the Real Housewives as perfect, but Kim Zolciak of the Atlanta franchise is certainly giving the rest of her colleagues a run for their money. On Tuesday, Zolciak’s daughter Ariana Biermann, who just wrapped her first season starring in Bravo’s Next Gen NYC, posted a video to Instagram claiming her freckles were zapped off her face when she was 14 years old on her mother’s orders. “Every time I do my makeup, whether it’s like a full face or just like a little bit, I always put on freckles,” she says. “Every time I do it, it makes me think of the fact that I would not be putting on these freckles had my mother not have gotten rid of my freckles when I was 14.”

The 23-year-old recalls her mother sending her to get a facial years ago, and during the treatment, a friend who was apparently with her for the appointment asked, “Girl, where are your freckles going?” When Biermann asked the facialist what was happening, the woman told her, “Your mom told me that you didn’t like them and you wanted me to remove them with the facial.” “Lasering them off, what?” Biermann remembers saying. “I love my freckles.”

Biermann adds that she recently spoke to her mom on the phone about the incident, which prompted Zolciak to laugh. “I was like, ‘You’re a jackaass,’” Biermann says. “Now, I add them onto my face because I don’t have them anymore because somebody removed them and I didn’t want them removed.” She ends the video by noting that she still misses her freckles. “You know what, Mom? You’re a jackass for that,” Biermann concludes. “I love you, but insane.”

It seems Zolciak still finds the whole debacle pretty funny — she replied to her daughter’s post with nine crying-laughing emoji. “Hahaha jackass,” Biermann wrote. Other commenters were less entertained. “That’s sad your naturally beautiful freckles was [sic] wiped away without your consent at a young age,” one responded. Another added, “That is the craziest thing that I have ever heard … Who would do that to a child?” Oh, I don’t know, maybe a woman who appeared on E!’s Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind? Just a guess.
